Objective: To examine the risk factors linked with occupational blood exposure (OBE) among nursing staff (NS), we pinpoint deficiencies in the compliance with policies of infection prevention and control, and assess the expenditures associated with infection prevention and control. Methods: Healthcare workers that completed an "Occupational Blood Exposure Report Form" were divided into NS (observation) group and non-NS (control) group. Univariate and multivariable analyses were conducted to compare both groups in various aspects. We also explored design patents intended to minimize occupational exposure. Results: The highest incidence of OBE was observed in the department of neurosurgery. Among NS, OBE incidence was found to be influenced by independent risk factors, such as gender, age, occupational title, work location, and incidence of sharps injuries. Protective factors against OBEs included the use of arterial blood gas needles and suture needles. Personal protective equipment (PPE) usage rates were low in both groups prior to OBEs (0.74% vs 0.00%, P > 0.05). Correct emergency management could be improved promptly by both groups following an OBE (P > 0.05). However, the observation group exhibited a higher proportion of blood expression after a sharps injury and a higher re-evaluation rate at 6 months post-exposure compared to the control group (P < 0.05). In 2018, the per capita costs of infection prevention and control for NS were the Chinese Yuan (RMB) 339.43 per individual. In response to these findings, two utility model patents have been authorized. Conclusion: The risk and protective factors related to the occurrence of OBEs were investigated in this study, suggesting that there is a need for improvement in the rate of PPE usage and the re-evaluation rate of OBEs among NS. Additionally, focused training on emergency blood expression and compliance with policies among non-NS personnel is deemed necessary.

OBJECTIVE: Complicated appendicitis is associated with a higher risk of postoperative complications, including adhesive bowel obstruction. The aim of this meta-analysis is to investigate the difference in rates of postoperative bowel obstruction in paediatric patients with complicated versus simple appendicitis and whether this is influenced by the surgical approach. METHODS: A systematic literature search following PRISMA guidelines was conducted using MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Library for studies that analysed incidence of adhesive bowel obstruction in paediatric patients after appendicectomy. Studies from 1998 to 2022 were included in analysis. The study protocol was registered on PROSPERO (ID CRD42022309769). RESULTS: Pooled analysis of 6 studies with low risk of bias and adequate follow up periods, considering 58,962 cases of appendicectomy, revealed complex appendicitis was associated with a near two-fold increase in incidence of SBO (pooled odds ratio 2.02 (95% CI 1.35-2.69)). Interestingly, a similar pooled analysis of 10 studies, considering 62,433 cases of appendicectomy, revealed no significant difference between open and laparoscopic management of complex appendicitis (pooled odds ratio 0.93 (95% CI 0.24 to 1.62)). CONCLUSION: Complex appendicitis is associated with a two-fold increase in the rates of adhesive bowel obstruction. Whilst there are cosmetic advantages of a laparoscopic approach, surgical expertise should be favoured in decision making relating to surgical approach (laparoscopic versus open) as the evidence for a laparoscopic approach reducing risks of adhesive bowel obstruction is not convincing. PURPOSE: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of percutaneous puncture guided by a 5th generation mobile communication technology (5G)-based telerobotic ultrasound system in phantom and animal experiments. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the phantom experiment, 10 simulated lesions were punctured, once at each of two angles for each lesion, under the guidance of a telerobotic ultrasound system and ultrasound-guided freehand puncture. Student's t test was used to compare the two methods in terms of puncture accuracy, total operation duration, and puncture duration. In the animal experiment, under the guidance of the telerobotic ultrasound system, an 18G puncture needle was used to puncture 3 target steel beads in the liver, right kidney, and right gluteal muscle, respectively. The animal experiment had no freehand ultrasound-guided control group. After puncture, a CT scan was performed to verify the position of the puncture needle in relation to the target, and the complications and puncture duration, etc., were recorded. RESULTS: In the phantom experiment, the mean accuracies of puncture under telerobotic ultrasound guidance and conventional ultrasound guidance were 1.8 ± 0.3 mm and 1.6 ± 0.3 mm (P = 0.09), respectively; therefore, there was no significant difference in the accuracy of the two guide methods. In the animal experiment, the first-attempt puncture success (the needle tip close to the target) rate was 93%. Polypnea occurred during one puncture. No other intraoperative or postoperative complications were observed. CONCLUSION: Puncture guided by a 5G-based telerobotic ultrasound system has shown good feasibility and safety in phantom and animal experiments.

Groundwater is crucial for agriculture and domestic consumption. This research investigated the hydrogeochemical properties and contaminant sources of groundwater within the mountainous terrain of northern Chongqing, with the objective of evaluating its appropriateness for irrigation and potable use. The hydrochemical type of the groundwater was HCO3 - Ca, dominated by silicate and calcite dissolutions. High NO3- (29.03% exceeds 10 mg/L) were attributed to the overuse of agricultural fertilizers. A comprehensive evaluation was conducted to determine the groundwater suitability for agricultural and potable uses. The results showed that groundwater in the southwestern region, particularly within the Yangtze River mainstem watershed, exhibited less suitability for irrigation owing to its lower mineralization, in contrast to the northeastern region near the Daning River watershed. But this trend is reversed for drinking purposes. Overall, the groundwater was appropriate for both drinking (93.55% were classified as excellent) and irrigation (70.98% were classified as low restriction) purposes in the study area. Deterministic and probabilistic noncarcinogenic health risk analyses centered on nitrate exposure revealed that infants (with 13.79% of samples >1) were at greater risk than children (8.58%), adult males (6.98%), and adult females (5.24%). This underscores the urgency to reduce nitrogen fertilizer usage and improve water management in the region. This research will provide guidance for the sustainable groundwater management in mountainous regions.

Cannabidiol (CBD), one of the major components extracted from the plant Cannabis sativa L., has been used as a prescription drug to treat seizures in many countries. CBD-induced male reproductive toxicity has been reported in animal models; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We previously reported that CBD induced apoptosis in primary human Leydig cells, which constitute the primary steroidogenic cell population in the testicular interstitium. In this study, we investigated the effects of CBD and its metabolites on TM3 mouse Leydig cells. CBD, at concentrations below 30 µM, reduced cell viability, induced G1 cell cycle arrest, and inhibited DNA synthesis. CBD induced apoptosis after exposure to high concentrations (≥ 50 µM) for 24 h or a low concentration (20 µM) for 6 days. 7-Hydroxy-CBD and 7-carboxy-CBD, the main CBD metabolites of CBD, exhibited the similar toxic effects as CBD. In addition, we conducted a time-course mRNA-sequencing analysis in both primary human Leydig cells and TM3 mouse Leydig cells to understand and compare the mechanisms underlying CBD-induced cytotoxicity. mRNA-sequencing analysis of CBD-treated human and mouse Leydig cells over a 5-day time-course indicated similar responses in both cell types. Mitochondria and lysosome dysfunction, oxidative stress, and autophagy were the major enriched pathways in both cell types. Taken together, these findings demonstrate comparable toxic effects and underlying mechanisms in CBD-treated mouse and primary human Leydig cells.

Introducing natural Bouligand structure into synthetics is expected to develop high-performance structural materials. Interfibrous interface is critical to load transfer, and mechanical functionality of bioinspired Bouligand structure yet receives little attention. Here, we propose one kind of hierarchical and reconfigurable interfibrous interface based on moderate orderliness to mechanically reinforce bioinspired Bouligand structure. The interface imparted by moderate alignment of adaptable networked nanofibers hierarchically includes nanofiber interlocking and hydrogen-bonding (HB) network bridging, being expected to facilitate load transfer and structural stability through dynamic adjustment in terms of nanofiber sliding and HB breaking-reforming. As one demonstration, the hierarchical and reconfigurable interfibrous interface is constructed based on moderate alignment of networked bacterial cellulose nanofibers. We show that the resultant bioinspired Bouligand structural material exhibits unusual strengthening and toughening mechanisms dominated by interface-microstructure multiscale coupling. The proposed interfibrous interface enabled by moderate orderliness would provide mechanical insight into the assembly of widely existing networked nanofiber building blocks toward high-performance macroscopic bioinspired structural assemblies.

Cryptococcus neoformans has been designated as critical fungal pathogens by the World Health Organization, mainly due to limited treatment options and the prevalence of antifungal resistance. Consequently, the utilization of novel antifungal agents is crucial for the effective treatment of C. neoformans infections. This study exposed that the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of isobavachalcone (IBC) against C. neoformans H99 was 8 µg/mL, and IBC dispersed 48-h mature biofilms by affecting cell viability at 16 µg/mL. The antifungal efficacy of IBC was further validated through microscopic observations using specific dyes and in vitro assays, which confirmed the disruption of cell wall/membrane integrity. RNA-Seq analysis was employed to decipher the effect of IBC on the C. neoformans H99 transcriptomic profiles. Real-time quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) analysis was performed to validate the transcriptomic data and identify the differentially expressed genes. The results showed that IBC exhibited various mechanisms to impede the growth, biofilm formation, and virulence of C. neoformans H99 by modulating multiple dysregulated pathways related to cell wall/membrane, drug resistance, apoptosis, and mitochondrial homeostasis. The transcriptomic findings were corroborated by the antioxidant analyses, antifungal drug sensitivity, molecular docking, capsule, and melanin assays. In vivo antifungal activity analysis demonstrated that IBC extended the lifespan of C. neoformans-infected Caenorhabditis elegans. Overall, the current study unveiled that IBC targeted multiple pathways simultaneously to inhibit growth significantly, biofilm formation, and virulence, as well as to disperse mature biofilms of C. neoformans H99 and induce cell death.

Background: Despite the well-established health benefits of physical activity, a large population of older adults still maintain sedentary life style or physical inactivity. This network meta-analysis (NMA) aimed to compare the effectiveness of wearable activity tracker-based intervention (WAT), electronic and mobile health intervention (E&MH), structured exercise program intervention (SEP), financial incentive intervention (FI) on promoting physical activity and reducing sedentary time in older adults. Methods: The systematic review based on PRISMA guidelines, a systematic literature search of PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, EMbase, Cochrane Library, Scopus were searched from inception to December 10th 2022. The randomized controlled trials (RCT) were included. Two reviewers independently conducted study selection, data extraction, risk of bias and certainty of evidence assessment. The effect measures were standard mean differences (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI) in daily steps, moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and sedentary time. Results: A total of 69 studies with 14,120 participants were included in the NMA. Among these included studies, the results of daily steps, MVPA and sedentary time was reported by 55, 25 and 15 studies, respectively. The NMA consistency model analysis suggested that the following interventions had the highest probability (surface under the cumulative ranking, SUCRA) of being the best when compared with control: FI + WAT for daily steps (SUCRA = 96.6%; SMD = 1.32, 95% CI:0.77, 1.86), WAT + E&MH + SEP for MVPA (SUCRA = 91.2%; SMD = 0.94, 95% CI: 0.36, 1.52) and WAT + E&MH + SEP for sedentary time (SUCRA = 80.3%; SMD = -0.50, 95% CI: -0.87, -0.14). The quality of the evidences of daily steps, MVPA and sedentary time was evaluated by very low, very low and low, respectively. Conclusions: In this NMA, there's low quality evidence that financial incentive combined with wearable activity tracker is the most effective intervention for increasing daily steps of older adults, wearable activity tracker combined with electronic and mobile health and structured exercise program is the most effective intervention to help older adults to increase MVPA and reduce sedentary time.

The defects and interface engineering are efficient approaches to adjust the physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials to enhance catalytic performance. In this study, we report a new MOFs-driven porous Cu2S/MoS2-Vs octahedral semiconductor with heterostructure and photothermal effect. The introduction of sulfur vacancies directly improves the adsorption performance of CO2, and the formation of heterostructure significantly increases the charge transfer rate. The C-penetrating material obtained from MOFs not only acts as an octahedral skeleton support, but also gives photothermal effects under photoelectric conditions. The formation rate of sole C2 products in photoelectrocatalytic CO2 reduction by using Cu2S/MoS2-Vs heterostructure is up to 52 µM·h-1·cm-2 equal to the total electron transfer rate of 541 µM·h-1·cm-2. The carbene mechanism and reaction pathways were proposed and verified by 13CO2 isotopic labelling and operando Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra. The important intermediates of *CO2-, *CO, *CHO and *CHO-CHO were identified by operando FT-IR spectra. In the comparative experiments, the photothermal electrons are beneficial to C2 products. DFT calculations indicate that the presence of S vacancies (Vs) reduces the energy barrier for product generation.

The facet joint injection is the most common procedure used to release lower back pain. In this paper, we proposed a deep learning method for detecting and segmenting facet joints in ultrasound images based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and enhanced data annotation. In the enhanced data annotation, a facet joint was considered as the first target and the ventral complex as the second target to improve the capability of CNNs in recognizing the facet joint. A total of 300 cases of patients undergoing pain treatment were included. The ultrasound images were captured and labeled by two professional anesthesiologists, and then augmented to train a deep learning model based on the Mask Region-based CNN (Mask R-CNN). The performance of the deep learning model was evaluated using the average precision (AP) on the testing sets. The data augmentation and data annotation methods were found to improve the AP. The AP50 for facet joint detection and segmentation was 90.4% and 85.0%, respectively, demonstrating the satisfying performance of the deep learning model. We presented a deep learning method for facet joint detection and segmentation in ultrasound images based on enhanced data annotation and the Mask R-CNN. The feasibility and potential of deep learning techniques in facet joint ultrasound image analysis have been demonstrated.

Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is the preferred treatment for various types of cholestasis, however, its effectiveness is limited because of its insolubility in water. We used polyethylene glycol (PEG) and cationic polymer polyethylenimine (PEI) to double-modify graphite oxide (PPG) as a drug delivery system. UDCA was successfully loaded onto PPG through intermolecular interactions to form UDCA-PPG nanoparticles. UDCA-PPG nanoparticles not only improve the solubility and dispersibility of UDCA, but also have good biocompatibility and stability, which significantly improve the delivery rate of UDCA. The results indicated that UDCA-PPG significantly reduced ROS levels, promoted cell proliferation, protected mitochondrial membrane potential, reduced DNA damage and reduced apoptosis in the DCA-induced cell model. In a mouse cholestasis model established by bile duct ligation (BDL), UDCA-PPG improved liver necrosis, fibrosis, and mitochondrial damage and reduced serum ALT and AST levels, which were superior to those in the UDCA-treated group. UDCA-PPG reduced the expression of the apoptosis-related proteins, Caspase-3 and Bax, increased the expression of Bcl-2, and reduced the expression of the oxidative stress-related proteins, NQO and HO-1, as well as the autophagy-related proteins LC3, p62 and p-p62. Therefore, UDCA-PPG can enhance the therapeutic effect of UDCA in cholestasis, by significantly improving drug dispersibility and stability, extending circulation time in vivo, promoting absorption, decreasing ROS levels, enhancing autophagy flow and inhibiting apoptosis via the Bcl-2/Bax signaling pathway.

Rodents have been confirmed as hosts of various vector-borne zoonotic pathogens and are important for the maintenance of these microbes in nature. However, surveillance for zoonotic pathogens is limited for many wild rodent species in China, so our knowledge of pathogen ecology, genetic diversity, and the risk of cross-species transmission to humans is limited. In this study, 165 spleen samples of Daurian ground squirrels (Spermophilus dauricus) were collected from Weichang Manchu and the Mongolian Autonomous County of Hebei Province, China, and Rickettsia, Bartonella, and Anaplasma were identified by DNA detection using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Sequence analysis identified eight bacterial pathogens: R. raoultii, R. sibirica, Candidatus R. longicornii, B. washoensis, B. grahamii, B. jaculi, A. capra, and Candidatus Anaplasma cinensis. Co-infection of B. grahamii and R. raoultii in one sample was observed. Our results demonstrated the genetic diversity of bacteria in Daurian ground squirrels and contributed to the distribution of these pathogens. Six species, A. capra, R. raoultii, R. sibirica, Candidatus R. longicornii, B. washoensis, and B. grahamii, are known to be pathogenic to humans, indicating a potential public health risk to the local human population, especially to herders who frequently have close contact with Daurian ground squirrels and are thus exposed to their ectoparasites.

Sulfidated zero valent iron (ZVI) is a popular material for the reductive degradation of halogenated organic pollutants. Simple and economic synthesis of this material is highly demanded. In this study, sulfidated micro/nanostructured ZVI (MNZVI) particles were prepared by simply heating MNZVI particles and sulfur elements (S0) in pure water (50℃). The iron oxides on the surface of MNZVI particles were conducive to sulfidation reaction, indicating the formation of iron-sulphide minerals (FeSx) on the surface of MNZVI particles might not be from the direct reaction of Fe0 with S0 (Fe0 and S0 acted as reductant and oxidant, respectively). As an important reductant, hydrogen atom (H•) can be generated from the reduction of H+ by MNZVI particles and participate in the formation of FeSx. Quenching experiment and cyclic voltammetry analysis proved the existence of H• on the surface of MNZVI particles. DFT calculation found that the potential barrier of H•/S0 and Fe0/S0 were 1.91 and 7.24 eV, respectively, indicating that S0 would preferentially react with H• instead of Fe0. The formed H• can quickly react with S0 to generate hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which can further react with iron oxides such as α-Fe2O3 on the surface of MNZVI particles to form FeSx. In addition, the H2 partial pressure in water significantly affected the amount of H• generated, thereby affecting the sulfidation efficiency. For TCE degradation, as the sulfur loading of sulfidated MNZVI particles increased, the contribution of H• significantly decreased while the contribution of direct electron transfer increased. This study provided new insights into the synthesis mechanism of sulfidated ZVI in water.

In the quest to build general-purpose photonic quantum computers, fusion-based quantum computation has risen to prominence as a promising strategy. This model allows a ballistic construction of large cluster states which are universal for quantum computation, in a scalable and loss-tolerant way without feed forward, by fusing many small n-photon entangled resource states. However, a key obstacle to this architecture lies in efficiently generating the required essential resource states on photonic chips. One such critical seed state that has not yet been achieved is the heralded three-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (3-GHZ) state. Here, we address this elementary resource gap, by reporting the first experimental realization of a heralded 3-GHZ state. Our implementation employs a low-loss and fully programmable photonic chip that manipulates six indistinguishable single photons of wavelengths in the telecommunication regime. Conditional on the heralding detection, we obtain the desired 3-GHZ state with a fidelity 0.573±0.024. Our Letter marks an important step for the future fault-tolerant photonic quantum computing, leading to the acceleration of building a large-scale optical quantum computer.

Recent evidence has demonstrated that the transsynaptic nanoscale organization of synaptic proteins plays a crucial role in regulating synaptic strength in excitatory synapses. However, the molecular mechanism underlying this transsynaptic nanostructure in inhibitory synapses still remains unclear and its impact on synapse function in physiological or pathological contexts has not been demonstrated. In this study, we utilized an engineered proteolysis technique to investigate the effects of acute cleavage of neuroligin-2 (NL2) on synaptic transmission. Our results show that the rapid cleavage of NL2 led to impaired synaptic transmission by reducing both neurotransmitter release probability and quantum size. These changes were attributed to the dispersion of RIM1/2 and GABAA receptors and a weakened spatial alignment between them at the subsynaptic scale, as observed through superresolution imaging and model simulations. Importantly, we found that endogenous NL2 undergoes rapid MMP9-dependent cleavage during epileptic activities, which further exacerbates the decrease in inhibitory transmission. Overall, our study demonstrates the significant impact of nanoscale structural reorganization on inhibitory transmission and unveils ongoing modulation of mature GABAergic synapses through active cleavage of NL2 in response to hyperactivity.

BACKGROUND: Several reviews have examined the health benefits of participation in specific sports, such as baseball, cricket, cross-country skiing, cycling, downhill skiing, football, golf, judo, rugby, running and swimming. However, new primary studies on the topic have recently been published, and the respective meta-analytic evidence needs to be updated. OBJECTIVES: To systematically review, summarise and appraise evidence on physical health benefits of participation in different recreational sports. METHODS: Searches for journal articles were conducted in PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, SpoLit, SPORTDiscus, Sports Medicine & Education Index and Web of Science. We included longitudinal and intervention studies investigating physical health outcomes associated with participation in a given sport among generally healthy adults without disability. RESULTS: A total of 136 papers from 76 studies conducted among 2.6 million participants were included in the review. Our meta-analyses of available evidence found that: (1) cycling reduces the risk of coronary heart disease by 16% (pooled hazard ratio [HR] = 0.84; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.80, 0.89), all-cause mortality by 21% (HR = 0.79; 95% CI: 0.73, 0.84), cancer mortality by 10% (HR = 0.90; 95% CI: 0.85, 0.96) and cardiovascular mortality by 20% (HR = 0.80; 95% CI: 0.74, 0.86); (2) football has favourable effects on body composition, blood lipids, fasting blood glucose, blood pressure, cardiovascular function at rest, cardiorespiratory fitness and bone strength (p < 0.050); (3) handball has favourable effects on body composition and cardiorespiratory fitness (p < 0.050); (4) running reduces the risk of all-cause mortality by 23% (HR = 0.77; 95% CI: 0.70, 0.85), cancer mortality by 20% (HR = 0.80; 95% CI: 0.72, 0.89) and cardiovascular mortality by 27% (HR = 0.73; 95% CI: 0.57, 0.94) and improves body composition, cardiovascular function at rest and cardiorespiratory fitness (p < 0.010); and (5) swimming reduces the risk of all-cause mortality by 24% (HR = 0.76; 95% CI: 0.63, 0.92) and improves body composition and blood lipids (p < 0.010). CONCLUSIONS: A range of physical health benefits are associated with participation in recreational cycling, football, handball, running and swimming. More studies are needed to enable meta-analyses of health benefits of participation in other sports. PROSPERO registration number CRD42021234839.

Autolysins are endogenous cell wall degrading enzymes (CWDEs) in bacteria that remodel the peptidoglycan layer of its own cell wall. In the Bacillus subtilis genome, at least 35 autolysin genes have been identified. However, the study of their roles in bacterial physiology has been hampered by their complexity and functional redundancy. B. subtilis GLB191 is an effective biocontrol strain against grape downy mildew disease, the biocontrol effect of which results from both direct effect against the pathogen and stimulation of the plant defense. In this study, we show that the autolysin N-acetylglucosaminidase LytD, a major autolysin of vegetative growth in B. subtilis, plays an important role in its biocontrol activity against grape downy mildew. Disruption of lytD resulted in reduced suppression of the pathogen Plasmopara viticola and stimulation of the plant defense. LytD is also shown to affect the biofilm formation and colonization of B. subtilis on grape leaves. This is the first report that demonstrates the role of an endogenous CWDE in suppressing plant disease infection of a biological control microorganism. These findings not only expand our knowledge on the biological function of autolysins but also provide a new target to promote the biocontrol activity of B. subtilis.

Type 2 diabetic osteoporosis (T2DOP) has received increasing attention from researchers. In this study, a total of 453 publications related to T2DOP from 2013 to 2022 were analyzed using bibliometric and visual analysis to identify the research trends and research hotspots in the field of T2DOP. PURPOSE: The objective of this study was to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of T2DOP-related publications from 2013 to 2022 to determine global research trends in T2DOP in terms of number of publications, countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, funding agencies, and keywords. METHODS: All data were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). All original research publications regarding T2DOP from 2013 to 2022 were retrieved. VOSviewer and Microsoft Office Excel were used to conduct the bibliometric and visual analysis. RESULTS: From 2013 to 2022, 515 relevant publications were published, with a peak in 2022 in the annual number of publications. The countries leading the research were USA and China. Sugimoto was the most influential authors. Capital Medical University and Nanjing Medical University were the most prolific institutions. Osteoporosis International was the most productive journal concerning T2DOP research. National Natural Science Foundation of China was the primary funding source for this research area. "Bone-mineral density", "fracture risk", and "postmenopausal women" were the most high-frequency keywords over the past 10 years. CONCLUSION: This was the first bibliometric study of diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis to exclusively examine type 2 diabetes mellitus. Our findings would provide guidance to understand the research frontiers and hot directions in the near future.

In spite of the competitive performance at room temperature, the development of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) is still hindered by sluggish electrochemical reaction kinetics and unstable electrode/electrolyte interphase under subzero environments. Herein, a low-concentration electrolyte, consisting of 0.5M NaPF6 dissolving in diethylene glycol dimethyl ether solvent, is proposed for SIBs working at low temperature. Such an electrolyte generates a thin, amorphous, and homogeneous cathode/electrolyte interphase at low temperature. The interphase is monolithic and rich in organic components, reducing the limitation of Na+ migration through inorganic crystals, thereby facilitating the interfacial Na+ dynamics at low temperature. Furthermore, it effectively blocks the unfavorable side reactions between active materials and electrolytes, improving the structural stability. Consequently, Na0.7Li0.03Mg0.03Ni0.27Mn0.6Ti0.07O2//Na and hard carbon//Na cells deliver a high capacity retention of 90.8 % after 900 cycles at 1C, a capacity over 310 mAh g-1 under -30 °C, respectively, showing long-term cycling stability and great rate capability at low temperature.

With the aging of the population, the quality of life and happiness of the elderly are increasingly becoming concerns of society. Smart senior care (SSC) products are an important tool to improve the quality of life of the elderly, and their application has been widely discussed. However, due to differences in cognitive characteristics and habits of the elderly, they may face difficulties when using smart products. Therefore, how to design a suitable SSC product APP interface for the elderly has become an urgent problem to be solved. The rapid development of deep learning (DL) provides a new way to deal with this problem. This paper aims to optimize the APP interface design of SSC products suitable for the elderly by using DL technology. Specifically, this paper designs a model based on a deep-Q-network (DQN) algorithm, which can better adapt to the usage habits and needs of the elderly through training and optimization. At the same time, the proposed model is evaluated comprehensively to verify its performance and superiority. To achieve the above goals, this paper first summarizes the existing SSC technology and the design suitable for the elderly. On this basis, a model based on the DQN algorithm is designed, and four datasets are used for training and testing. In the design of the model, this paper pays special attention to how to make the interface more friendly and easy to operate to meet the specific demands and preferences of the elderly. After a comprehensive evaluation, it is found that the proposed DQN algorithm model has achieved remarkable improvement in performance. This model has an average return of about 8.8 and 3.9 compared to other models, which have an average return of about 0.9 and 0.2, respectively. This shows that the model designed in this paper performs well in terms of accuracy and average return and performs better than other algorithms. The results of this paper reveal that optimizing the age-appropriate design of the SSC product APP interface through DL technology can notably enhance the user experience and satisfaction of the elderly. This not only helps the elderly to make better use of smart products and improve their quality of life but also provides useful inspiration and guidance for research and practice in related fields.
